Manager – Government Advisory

About the job

Due to the continued growth of the firm, Olvera Advisors has a new opportunity for a self-motivated Manager to join our evolving Government Advisory services team.

This role provides a seamless link between Olvera’s leadership team, delivery teams, and stakeholders, working across a diverse portfolio of public, private and not-for-profit sector clients. Government Advisory is a growing practice within the firm, and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping shape a practice while delivering high-quality advisory outcomes.

As a Manager at Olvera, you will work at the intersection of strategy and execution – supporting clients to define priorities, navigate complexity, and deliver practical outcomes through structured project delivery, business analysis and change enablement. Engagements range from discrete strategic advisory through to multiphase transformation and implementation support.

You will take ownership of producing clear, executive ready advice and delivery outputs in an outcome driven environment, while also contributing to opportunity shaping and business development as the practice continues to grow.

This opportunity offers a hands-on role within an advisory firm where progression is based on capability, judgment and impact, and where no two days are the same. You will work closely with colleagues across Olvera, including our Restructuring and Insolvency teams, where engagements intersect.

Overview of Role

As a Manager in Government Advisory, you will be responsible for leading workstreams and supporting delivery across a broad range of advisory and transformation engagements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day leadership of strategy, advisory and transformation workstreams, ensuring delivery to time, scope and quality
  • Providing evidence-based strategic and business advice to senior client stakeholders across government, private and not-for-profits sectors
  • Undertaking and overseeing research, analysis, investigation and evaluation to inform decision-making and strategic direction
  • Preparing high quality client deliverables, including briefs, executive papers, business cases, reports and presentations
  • Facilitating workshops and stakeholder consultations to define current state, identify risks and opportunities, and align on practical next steps
  • Applying strong business analysis capability to define requirements, process improvements, operating impacts and implementation approaches
  • Supporting and leading change activities, including stakeholder mapping, communications planning, change impact assessment and transition to business as usual
  • Managing complex stakeholder environments, influencing and negotiating across differing priorities and perspectives
  • Identifying and managing delivery risks, dependencies and governance considerations, escalating issues where required
  • Contributing to our business development efforts, including proposal development and opportunity shaping
  • Supporting team capability uplift through coaching, quality assurance and the development of fit for purpose tools, templates and ways of working

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you combine great consulting-style delivery skills with a grounded, people-first approach to your advisory work. You’re comfortable operating in environments that require both strategic thinking and practical execution, and you bring curiosity, initiative and professionalism to everything you do. You enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, value being part of an inclusive team, and are motivated to keep learning and growing as the practice continues to evolve.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and build trusted relationships across public, private and not-for-profit sectors
  • Experience supporting or delivering change initiatives, including adoption and implementation planning
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with a high degree of autonomy
  • A proactive mindset and commercial awareness, with an interest in contributing to business development and practice growth
