About Tony

Tony is a seasoned restructuring professional with over 20 years of experience in navigating complex restructuring and investigative engagements. Known for his commercial acumen, he has a proven track record of maximising stakeholder returns while preserving business value.

His expertise covers all forms of external administrations, including receiverships, voluntary administrations, deed administrations, and liquidations. Tony has successfully guided businesses across diverse industries, including financial services, retail, transport, agriculture, property and construction, mining, and hospitality.

From small to mid-sized restructures and wind-ups to high-profile engagements involving publicly listed companies, Tony brings a strategic and solutions-focused approach to every engagement.

Significant Engagements

Small Business Restructures (SBR): Tony has extensive experience in SBR’s, particularly in the construction, hospitality, and retail sectors. He has assisted many small business owners restructure their debts through the SBR process.

Pacific Steel Constructions: Successful turnaround of a Western Sydney-based steel manufacturing group comprising 7 entities with a $20m yearly turnover and 35 staff.

Novacoast Transport: Successful turnaround of a Newcastle-based transport business via a deed of company arrangement which saw the business continue to operate and employees retaining their employment.

Pinnacle Drilling Group: Trade-on and sale of a mining services business based in Orange NSW, which saw the first-ranking secured creditor repaid a significant portion of their debt.

Colette by Colette Hayman: Restructure of the fashion retailer operating in Australia and New Zealand during COVID-19, including assessment and streamlining of ongoing operations to maximise value whilst undertaking a business sale campaign.

Bootoloo Farm: Negotiated an off-market sale of a QLD-based watermelon and capsicum farm, including primary production land, water rights, residential properties, and plant and equipment.

Financial assessments: Tony is regularly engaged by government departments and state-owned corporations to deliver financial assessments on prospective contractors for major projects ranging from c. $50 to $250m.

Trio Capital Limited: Whilst at ASIC, Tony investigated a large-scale superannuation fraud/Ponzi scheme (c. $180m) which involved tracing funds through a complex corporate structure of over 30 entities registered in Australia and in jurisdictions including Seychelles, Belize and Cayman Islands.
